SITE:
A renew plan for industry heritage.
The place I choose is an old industrial park and port which has declined in times. The majority of the workshops and storages are empty now. It is a stagnant town except some flash places (a bicycle recycle store and an amusement park).
The amusement park is the only place could attract young people, but it is just a temporary structure. I visited the owner of the bicycle store who has rent this old workshop in 2 years before it is removed. I see some potential energy from this store. How to keep the memory，when we try to renew some place.
The government has a plan to rebuild this area to be a business and residence area which is going on slowly. I thank I will have my opinion on it, which could be an ark connect with past and future; connect the contemporary nomadic city life and historical scene.
THRESHOLD:
New library for internet age
My threshold came from the meaning of “Ark”. It is a kind of sprit sample in Europe history. I try to find the traces and define it in architecture field. Ark is a kind vessel of DNA information in Bible, which kept the genetic information of the human and other species. It is impossible necessity. After that, Church took the function of Ark that collected information (religion and science) and relay it to public with priests. Church is a kind of substitute for ark. Book was the new medium for transferring and keeping information. Instead of church and priests, library became new ark for pubic. I could find the trace from the essay of Victor Hugo.
Nowadays, computer and internet have become the most important medium for recording and transfer the information.
When we could get information at home, what is new library could absorb young people.
I think the process to get information should stands with normal social life and also new information technology.
How to take people out of house and make them enjoy the communication and nature, at the same time offer the information.
What I want to discuss is the library of Matrix. It is the container of max information without papers or other physical medium and also a new space stratagem for searching the information in Matrix.

a) Information Terminal
The place where people got information from Matrix is a kind of terminal. The laptop is very popular now. To the people working with computer, especially the SOHO group, the only necessary things for working ground or information terminal is power supply and internet. I try to move these terminals into a park but offer more than normal internet terminals.
The data center of library could offer the information and knowledge through given terminal connecting with local area network.. That was meaning you need to go to park to get the detail of literature.
b) Public Functions
——public education ,communication and amusement
I also want to offer more public functions to the park to work with the information terminal, with including education, communication and amusement. For example, media gallery, cinema, coffee bar, open air stage.
When you work or learn in the park, you could enjoy social life at the same time.
The purpose of new structure is to renew the necrotic part of old industry dock and offer a fresh ground and new information vessel to attract public, especially young people.
B. new way of working
I also want to offer the internet workshop for short-term working and education. The workshop will offer the comfortable space, resource of information, network and equipment like computer if it is necessary. If you are the group just working in Bergen several days, or want to open a short time workshop or class with computer, or just a temporary group for one or two works, it will be a very good place to rent.

We have some questions about the exhibition:
Do you have a list af who is going to present when? (maybe we can make a new list so that the same persons who were first and last the other times dosnt have to be first and last on wednesday?)
How much time do we have on our presentations?
Are we suppost to show anything from the previous tasks in this exhibition?
